The Dream

We have had a dream for 20 years of offering choices to help create healthy families, starting with a healthy pregnancy, offering a place for birth, where the birth is celebrated as a natural, healthy and holistic life event and supporting new parents.

Our dream comes in the form of a community-based Birth and Family Wellness Center where a cross-section of health care providers work together in order to provide women and families with a broad array of possibilities and alternatives in one location.

The Birth Centre is also a place where women with healthy pregnancies are able to birth in a non-interventive and supportive environment.

The objectives of the Family Wellness Centre are:

• To operate a family wellness / birthing centre which offers a natural and supportive approach to pregnancy and child birth from a variety of care providers and alternate holistic care modalities
• To operate a business model where providers work together to enhance each others services to support the birthing family
• To have easy access to holistic care including therapeutic massage, chiropractor care and acupuncture
• To facilitate education for parents: before & during pregnancy, labour, and after the baby is born.
• To prevent and/or minimize the level of obstetrical intervention by offering medication-free pain management including water labour & birth
• To promote maternal health and well being both locally and globally by financial support and volunteering
• To co-operate with governments, private enterprise, other professionals, health institutions and educational institutes to provide safe, high quality prenatal and birthing options to women
• To provide an attractive, clean, up-to-date facility that benefits the community it is in.
